DELIRIUM DEFINED

Conceived in 2023 and completed in 2025, Delirium Defined is the first chapter of Dave Divine’s mythology: a story of first love, its corruption, delirium, revelation, and the return of the self.

The album opens with “The Beast”, where Dave begins to accept the accusations projected onto him — becoming the monster he has been called, if only long enough to understand the world that created him. What begins as a story of first love gradually turns into a cycle of abuse, obsession, and disappearance.

At its centre, “The Midas” becomes the revelation: the moment Dave takes his power back, steps outside himself, and sees the ruins from another perspective.

The record is built as a loop. It begins with a friend’s voice asking if Dave is doing well and ends with the beginning of another voice note. The circle never truly closes. It starts again.

Throughout the album, seven repeatedly appears in the lyrics and symbolism — a hidden number woven into its architecture, waiting to be noticed.

The final movement leads into “Private Prayer”, where negativity is stripped of its power through the sacred language Dave has learned to speak. What begins with accusations of becoming the Beast ends in a private ritual of release.

Originally, the album was to be called Private Prayer. One month before its release, Dave changed the title to Delirium Defined. During the later stages of the record, another layer revealed itself: Dave Divine — Delirium Defined. Four consecutive D’s. 4D. The fourth dimension — a metaphor for the distance required to step outside yourself, observe your own life, and finally define the delirium you were living inside.

Three weeks after the album’s release came The Delirium Defined: Abandoned Grounds Session — a live session featuring “The Beast,” “The Midas,” and “Scapegoat,” performed live for the first time in Dave’s career. Three songs, removed from the studio and returned to their rawest form.

Enter the delirium twice: once as it was written, and once as it was lived. Listen to Delirium Defined. Then enter the Abandoned Grounds.
